Looking for a good workshop manual XL 1200 LTD

Before I yank the engine to replace the stator in my 2001 XL1200 Limited, I'd like to find a shop manual to follow just to be safe. I downloaded a free one from online but in 200+ pages there's nothing about how pull the engine. I'm sure I could figure it out myself, but just want to be safe. Sources? Thanks

You dont have to pull the engine. The stator is IN the front cover. Remove the exhaust pipe, take front 2 motor mount bolts out, shove a block of wood under the front of the engine for support, remove the front cover.

Great, thanks. The Waverunner is 900 miles away so next time I'm out in MD I need to plan accordingly, and take the right tools with me.

You'll need 10,12,and 14mm sockets.....a couple extensions, screwdrivers (or 7&8mm) for the hose clamps on the pipe.....some blue loctite... and some copper spray to redress the pipe to manifold gasket. Might as well get about 9ft of 1/8" tygon and replace your oil injection lines while your in there.

Excellent, thanks. Oil lines were replaced 5 years ago with Oetiker clamps when the engine was rebuilt, but not a bad idea to do it again with wave eaters too.
