Hi guys, so I just bought a 2004 Sea Doo GTI yesterday. I took it out on the lake today, and its acceleration is pretty bad. If I hold on the throttle long enough, it will reach a top speed of about 45. Its pretty loud when slamming on the throttle, and I can occasionally hear it hit the rev limiter when hitting the throttle hard enough. It starts right up and seems to idle fine. Once I'm going top speed it feels ok, but it really takes a while to get there. Any help would be super!

It sounds like your wear ring in the jet pump may be shot.
This is a great first DIY project when it comes to 15 year old PWC's. ($30-40)
Check out youtube; many great videos showing the process of wear ring replacement in Sea Doo's. May as well change the pump oil while you're in there also.
