Currently we are at 150psi. Our carbs have the recipe with chokes intact… incase of runaway. We are currently running 89 pump gas with K100, making 91 octane. The plugs look mint…nice and brown, but would we benefit from running 93?

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Jonesy, I'd run premium. Not regular and additives. Its not quite the same. Premium 91 or 93 is better blended than octane boosters. You need it with this compression. Hope its running good!

Well… it was!!! Spun a ring, caught the edge of exhaust port and broke a piston.

    Ok…. Here’s an update
As stated… we spun a ring and cracked a piston. My machinist was able to chuck the head up in a lathe and clean it up, making it usable again. If we wanted to get crazy, I could’ve had the head welded and then machined.

Thanks to WFO, we picked up a good used piston and PV. We started the reassembly today.

Yesterday we got it all back together. We did a compression across all 3 jugs, we were at 155, 150, 150 respectively. Can’t wait to get it back on the water for one last BRAP!!

Yesterday we were able to get the ski out. The air temp was 55 and I imagine water was close to the same. The kid never really got on it or did a speed run… just getting the rings to seat. The machine is VERY strong now… probably the best it’s ever been!! She pulls like a freight train and hit 55 in no time!! We pulled it in and checked everything… all looks perfect. Can’t wait to see what she does next year!

Looks good. Thanks for the update. I don’t understand the worry with the head? My looks just like that and it’s been on there for years with no issues.

It was REALLY bad with deep gauges. The pot marks will cause hot spots on the head.
