Noob or question. Is this not connected

I was doing an oil change on my 2006 vx110 and noticed that this hose was not connected. Should it be and what is it for? Thanks

Is that the bilge scavenge hose? Is there another hose with plastic elbow nearby?

Down low inside the hull there should be a plastic (white?) flat box with a hose connection, probably somewhere under the driveshaft area. That is the ‘siphon’ water intake, from which a hose flows up to the plastic elbow, then back down to the rear transom area where it connects to a fitting going out to the jet pump.

    Thanks K447 ...
Oh well, in my defense I removed my own battery vent hoses on the day I got my new GP1800 home. So I have not seen those hoses in person for three years.

In the posted photo the hose just looked bigger than battery vent hose size.

I stand corrected - carry on
