Damn! You aren’t kidding. I almost never got the impeller off. Finally got it, now I can’t get the bearing off. Just so I’m sure. What way does the bearing come out?

After you read some more of my struff you'll see that I don't kid around much. My sarcasm is really strong however

the bearings need to be knocked out with a drift, from behind

    again, not easy

pro tip: while heating the pump up in an oven is suggested, sleeping in the garage for a month after your wife finds out what you've done is not easy.

second pro tip: as we're not exactly reinventing the wheel here, some other forum members have done so how to's

here's a good one for some tips and techniques to make the process a little less frustrating and bloody

btw, excellent work getting the prop off, it certainly isn't an easy job and something to be honest I face with dread when doing a pump, as I have always hated making that phone call to the customer letting him know his puppy has died, even after preparing them for the possibility that long term neglect often has disastrous consequences

now lets see how you do on the rest....

by the way, each write up on pump work contains a few precious gems to add to your infinity guantlet. When you collect them all, as I have, pumps typically cower in fear as they get locked up in the vise, or positioned on the press.

With all of that said, I'll say one more thing.

Gloves and googles are a must for these next steps

I add gear oil to my kawi pumps, i have found it extends the life of the pump, when seals go bad you visually see the gear oil leaking from the seals and when it needs to come apart doesnt take as much effort

Housing is cleaned out. Waiting on bearing kit to come in.

is there anything I can do to the impeller and the sleeve around the impeller while I have it taken apart?

Got my ski back together and in the water. Ended up finding a shop to press the bearings in for me. Ski got up to speed and seemed to run fine at top speed. I did notice when accelerating Hard from a stop I did notice a little vibration and What I would think is not very good low end acceleration. Any thoughts?
    thanks
