Interesting to see how it turns out. Mine got a drop of water in it that later ended up shattering the edge either from freeze or heat temps. Still works and visible but 1 good roll over and I bet it will be one filled with water. Do please let us know how it turns out.

That's why you should remove the display and seal the rubber plug on the back with 3M 5200 Fast Cure.

Just to advance this topic a bit. I’ve been planning to swap in an aem digital dash for a modern look with more gauge read outs. Will be selling my refurbished gauge setup.

Yes it is. IP 66 rated. The Holley digital dash is also “weather proof”. IP 65 I believe. Just sorting out the slo mode bypass. The aem dash can read can feeds from a huge variety of sources. Wonder if it could read the stock Mitsubishi feed.

I see the fsm shows the yellow/blue wire from the display goes to the ecu for slow mode. Holding the “mode” button for 7 seconds or more is supposed to put the ecu into “slo” mode. So what signal is going over that wire from the mfd to the ecu over that yellow/blue wire? Is it ground, positive or some other signal? There should be an easy way to have the “slo” mode be a separate momentary push button if it is either of the above. Or perhaps a 5v signal??? My “mode” button doesnt work but if anyone could hook up a multimeter and probe that yellow/blue wire with the ignition on and pressing the mode button id really appreciate knowing what that signal is. Once i know what it is i’ll work on getting this new dash setup going. Here is what i plan so far:
AEM CD-5 or 7 depending on what i can make fit
gps speedo built in to dash
engine temp using in-line hose sensor adapter fir 1/2” hose. 1/8 npt sensor
97-03 zxi fuel level sending unit to get a usable fuel level resistance range instead of the 0-8000 ohm sender in this thing now
RPM tach signal that feeds old mfd
oil pressure sender (tap into oil cooler sender area)
pump pressure sender (inline adapters to keep an eye on that pressure)
fuel pressure (will tap into the gauge port for my fuel lab fpr)
woud live to add an intake air temp sensor also

If possible, i’ll have it automate my nav lights (no night time regulations for pwc’s here on island as long as it has nav lights). If not, i’ll just switch over to some good handlebar waterproof switches.
