    Novice question re 2007 Wake 215. What exactly is getting flushed when using port...

    Someone please give me the Seadoo 101 and tell me:

    1. what is that flushing port to the left of the pump doing when the ski is being operated;

    2. where and what exactly does that flushing port lead to inside the hull;

    3. what areas exactly are getting flushed when pushing water through it.

    You're referring to the area circled in yellow and not the X?

    Pages 53 and 81-82 of your owners manual.

    Used to flush/cool the exhaust system

    Yes. Circle.

    My question, albeit a poorly worded one, was meant to be more specific. I'm looking for a description, like a roadmap of sorts, of the path the water takes when flushing through that tube. It goes into the exhaust, I get that. But what other method feeds lake/ocean water to the exhaust when under way and not on a hose? Is there a specific hose attached to the pump that does that? Is the flushing tube just open to the exhaust with no check valve or device to keep water moving one direction or the other?

    This might all be very fundamental but not to me.

    The engine heat is removed by coolant which circulates through the ride plate. It never sees "raw" water. The other source of heat is the exhaust system (and the intercooler if the machine comes with one). This cooling system is open and cooling water is supplied by a port in the jet pump. It circulates and is discharged from the flush port on the transom. When flushing the system on a hose, the flush port on the transom is used so the water flow is the reverse of what it is when the ski is in operation on the lake.

    Thank you both for the info. Exactly what I was looking for. Less mystery now.
