Ultra 310 Still The King?
Hopefully not going to get too much sh*t for this one, since the similar posts ive seen has asked questions in regards to who is the fastest.
I've seen countless videos of the RTX300's running away from the 310's like no ones business. Just got a new 2020 Ultra 310LX and was super intimated by the sea doo 300's and the yamaha SVHO's.
Had the opportunity to line up with another 310LX, and a RTX300. All stock. I also had a buddy of mine on the back of my ski, pushing like 350 pounds between us both (Im 160lb, hes 180).
The RTX jumped the gun taking off seriously like 2 or 3 seconds before me and the other kawi. I launched it to try to catch up, caught up in about 5 seconds, neck and neck for another 5 seconds, and ended up beating him by at least 5 lengths at the end. Water was glass, and mind yourself besides the 310 being a good 150 pounds heavier, I also had another grown man on my ski. The other 310 finished ahead of both of us, but he had a SCOM and just him on the ski.
Boosted my confidence in this machine way up, couldnt believe just pushing the extra 10 horses could destroy the RTX like that. The guy was shell shocked, had no idea how he could get the jump on us and still get killed. How does it fare against the SVHO's? In my mind so far, the Sea Doo claiming its the fastest accelerating ski is just a shitty marketing ploy. Kawi still king of the water?

Was the distance/time long enough for the factory speed limiter to engage on any of the watercraft?

The Coast Guard pretty much determines the max speed out of the box, so...

all skis are limited to just about 70, 310 seems even more limited to about 66,,,

The rxtx is a bit easier and cheaper to make faster than the ultra and with launch control, should be quicker off the line. The ultra hull is still a great rough water hull though. But that hull’s tradeoff has always been top speed. Acceleration is what many seem to be after anymore. Don’t get me wrong, the ultra pulls plenty hard. It’s just a bit of a dated platform.
