If fueling was good I don't believe 0.004 would cause the problem. If the piston/wall was 100% 0.004 than I would say it's the tight top ring that caused the issue.

i just order CP’s pistons from jerry , because i discovered that my new wiseco pistons are 4032 alloy !!!

I called Wiseco USA and they said the pistons are 2618 alloy.

The machinist also considers these rotax 4 tec engines as throw aways. Throw them away after initial use. 1 time use..

I called Wiseco and they said 2618 with .0025 PTW clearances for 8500 Rpms and 14 psi of boost.. 4032 would have a longer life span. I believe the stock forged Mahle pistons are 4032 and are used for modified engines with tight clearances.

Sock have a service limit at 0.004 and new 0.0017 - 0.003 so for sure they use alloy with less expansion.

Call Wiseco and find out for yourself. They suggested .0025 PTW clearances for 8500 Rpms and 14 Psi of Boost. When I asked Wiseco if they were 2618 or 4032. They replied 2618 unless the fellow really didn't know. This was by phone call. The stock Mahle are 4032 and work perfectly well for high boost engines or highly modified 4 tecs. CP is all marketing (Too expensive), they don't even offer a 101mm piston, unlike Wiseco.. Actually 1 of the 3 CP pistons that I purchased in the past was significantly off when compared to the other 2. My machinist suggested Wiseco when they saw the CP pistons, they don't like CP pistons due to this issue (Piston diameter not being all the same). They've seen this many times.

Reading up on 4032. 4032 will last longer then the 2618 for marginal modified supercharged engines. Maybe I would consider 2618 for 24+psi turbo application.

.0040 PTW clearance is starting to sound way to loose for a Maximum 8500 Rpms and 14 PSI boost. Wiseco is saying .0025 and CP is saying .0033-.0035. Both of these PTW clearances suggested by CP and Wiseco.
