2002 polaris virage i no spark, no fuel

    hello,

I have a 2002 polaris virage I that I've been rebuilding. when I bought it, it only came with the bottom end, gas tank, and a few other parts. I have purchased cylinders, heads, wiring, intake, and exhaust. it turns over fine but I'm getting no indication of spark or fuel. there is a branch coming off of the main harness that I can't figure out. I know that one of the plugs is for the tps sensor, and another is for the intake air temp sensor. but there is still a few that I can't figure out. I will try to upload a picture but I just wanted to start with this to see if there was any suggestions for no spark and no fuel

the display lights up and says unlocked. but I don't hear the fuel pump running.

    thank you in advance

    Welcome.

Do you have a working Ficht EMM module?

Have you installed the complete wire harness and all the sensors?
    And the large capacitor?

The Ficht system requires basically everything to be installed, connected, and working, otherwise it will not even attempt to fire up the engine.

There is a temp sensor on the exhaust side of the engine. Be aware that the exhaust temp connector is the same type as for the fuel injectors - do not get these connections confused.

You have the two cylinder engine, correct? If yes, there is a water valve solenoid on the exhaust. That solenoid is known to fail. The common fix is to delete the entire exhaust water injection, remove the solenoid and cap the exhaust fitting.

There is a lot more useful info at this link

I noticed that the temp sensor was the same as the fuel injector plugs. but I can't figure out where to plug it in. Is it on the actual exhaust or is it on the motor. there is also a loop that looks like it would be a ground. is that correct? or would it be positive?

and yes it is a 2 cylinder engine

That is engine ground, bolt on left rear corner of the engine.

Do not be trying to start the engine until you have ALL the electrical stuff sorted out.

Exhaust temp sensor is fitted into a blind hole on the side of the exhaust. It is held in with a single small bolt.

Do you have the sensor? It has a pigtail wire a few inches long, that mates with the 2-pin Deutsch connector visible in your wire harness.

Is the EMM from another two cylinder Ficht engine? The two cylinder Virage i uses a different EMM than the three cylinder Ficht engines.

Also, do you have the actual fuel injectors that match the EMM serial number you have?

I will look for that temp sensor shortly. and the emm is from this 2 cylinder engine and so are the fuel injectors. the numbers all match.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the 3 prong plug shown in the picture is for the tps sensor
    the loop is a ground
the one that looks like a fuel injector plug is for the exhaust
what about the 2 prong plug on the right side of the picture?

Exhaust temp sensor connection, pink and black wires.

Air intake temp sensor is shown above the wire harness engine ground ring. Air intake sensor mounts to the bottom of the flame arrestor base plate.

That is the air intake temp sensor, already plugged into the harness.

The open 2-pin Deutsch connector to the right, with black and pink wires, is for the exhaust temp sensor.
