Et20 + vxr cams 2019 FX
Just finished installed the new wheel and cams. I also did deans Venturi nozzle upgrade along with a taller pitch. It loads the pump better because it’s a smaller exit size) I tested on Saturday but had to cut the ride short because I had a oil in the hull, (it was the riva shaft supply line) only hit 8600 rpm though which is strange as I was at 8800 with stock wheel. Afr were good just had to adjust a little by giving a little more fuel. Had to order the 2lb tial bov spring-massive compressor surge before 6k rpm. I hope to see at least 9200 rpm but I don’t think I will with this pitch and heat. Dean said should be running 9k now-has some customers with exact same setup and that Is what they turn. Missing 600 rpm is a lot. Testing again tomorrow and will report. This thing should rip... well see.

Max rpms read-9230- 21 lbs of boost. And porpoising a little. I think with some tweaks to prop and going rpm to 9400. And possible cutting center bar out of intake grate. Could go even more.

Those speeds would have been about 3 to 4mph too high for the previous FX hulls with that low of boost and rpms at this time of year. The only way to see those speeds with the same wheel would have been either high compression or a 27 lb wheel and a better fuel source. The 19+ hull is looking like its alot faster. What size nozzle and prop pitch was this with ?

this is with a deans reduction and extended nozzle. I don’t know that actual diameter. And the prop is pitched to about a 13/17 to keep the rpms higher. This is with no kaneflex mated to the intake either. I will be taking the shims off the rear of plate and cutting the center bar out of grate to retest. I maybe also make the prop 13/16.5 to gain a little more rpm. Shooting for 9400 running rpm and am at 9120 now.

Reason I ask the nozzle size is rough water hulls like the FX scoop up alot more water and you typically have to be real careful playing with small nozzles and aggressive hull angles.Too high of a pressure going too slow of a speed will put up good numbers right uptil it over stuffs and pitches you off the ski.We run pressure gauges straight onto the pump tunnel to make sure it does not get over 40 psi when we make changes for this very reason. Not saying this is the case its just something to look out for when making big changes
