Another sucked up rope saga. Ski won't start. Any help appreciated.

    2010 GTX 155 Wake.
Friend sucked up a dock line at idle and the machine turned off. I trailered this morning and cut all the rope out. Now when I try to start it, i only hear 2 clicks.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Turns out it was the starter solenoid from trying to crank it with the rope stuck in it.

solenoids don't take kindly to stall loads, they overheat and the contacts damaged

even under good circumstance a crank-a thon does the same thing.

Wait a minute Pete!! Are you trying to say excessive heat and over amperage is Not ok for a small relay like a solenoid? Lol!

not all all, the subliminal message is that the "friend" should be at least paying for the solenoid, if not the rope removal labor.

Likely the same person who keeps trying to start a car while the magic smoke is pouring out from under the hood.

I'm not amazed at stuff like this anymore. A third of customers who call don't even know what kind of watercraft they own.
