    15F cams in a 12F

    Hi guys
    I have a 2004 STX12F. Iím doing a complete maintenance and check up on the ski. I have factor service manual and Iím about to check cam lash. If I have to shim any buckets I will use the opportunity to upgrade cams with 15F cams if they are an upgrade worth doing.
    I read 2 threads in here about this and they pointed to the cam position sensor lobe being different. http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=272089
    I havenít read were anyone said the 15F cams changed the 12Fís performance on way or the other. Cam position sensor lobe doesnít bother me. I cam machine anything needed to make that work.

    You will need some way of tuning it, they will not run properly if you drop them in and go. If you were to do it and tune it somehow, you will still be restricted by the intake manifold, the 12f has really long narrow runners while the 15f has short fat ones.

    Thanks for the info. I did notice the 15F intake has a lot shorter runner than the 12F. It's half the size.
    Has anyone made the 12F fast on any level?

    I had mine running 62ish on gps before, you have to make sure everything on the bottom is perfect.

    Run the stock grate, rnd plate, single waterbox, aftermarket sponsons, aftermarket filter, get air in the hull, and spin the motor up higher.
