    Temporary driveshaft holder patch?

Hey guys, ski is taking on a little bit of water, nothing crazy but there is a small leak in the driveshaft holder. Could I possible patch this up with some sort of marine sealant for the weekend? Will be ordering new holder but was planning on meeting up with some buddies this weekend.

It's a 1200 stxr. Got finished with an hour or so ride and had water in the full, put it on the trailer and backed it into the water to find a steady trickle coming from the holder around one of the bolts. I was thinking I could smear some 4200 sealant around the bolt for one day, but you're right turboman. Better not to chance it.

Not familiar with that setup. But if it's the same as the DI, fix it before riding. The pump pressure can cause the thru-hull to pop right off. And I speak from experience... sinking is not fun.

Wow that is crazy. The pump pressure from having a leaky driveshaft holder?

The pump pressure has nothing to with the leaky holder.

So was your thru hull popping off related to the thru hull being weak?

Just looked at OEM price for holder... wow. Anybody got an extra laying around? Or are there any aftermarkets you would recommend. I found this

That's not the part I thought you were talking about. I thought you meant the thru-hull that's between that part and the opening in the hull.

That part usually leaks between the seal and the drive shaft.

Pictures of your problem might help.
