1996 Slt 700 No Spark
I am new to this site so if I ask some dumb questions forgive me!
I have a 1996 700 slt Polaris engine model #wc70-dcsp-02 with a no spark problem, the dealer has been very litte help,could not even tell me why the wiring in my electrical box was different to all the schmatics I could find for my model. After searching through your site it seems that there is the upgraded ignition system installed, CDI electronic box P/N 4010449 that has black podding @ com port, coil P/N 4010175 has red podding with 2 Black/white wires to the primary side. I'm a little confused on the checking of the stator my readings are:
black - grnd = .1 ohm
b-pur = 5.6 ohm
b-gry = open
b-brn = open
b-red = open
b-grn = open
b-red/pur = open
Do these readings indicate a bad stator??
Any help is appreciated!Last edited by waub-watch; 06-14-2007 at 09:58 PM.

Check out the tech section under domestic electrical. It will tell you how to test the stator with a 9v battery and an ohm meter. Let us know what you find.

tested stator with a 9-volt the results are:
pur = 5.6 ohm
green = open constant when turning flywheel
red = open constant when turning flywheel
grey =1084m ohms

Looking at the wireing diagram should there not be continuity between the brown and grey wires on the stator???

Well finally finsihed install tonight and fired up on second crank purchased my upgrade system from Randy at Wacon. A true gentlemen with great knowledge. I strongly agree to purchase this kit it will solve your headaches!!!

Does the motor have to come out to replace the stator?
