    XPS 2 Stroke Synthetic Oil Question

    Seems like BRP likes to change names and bottle colors with every season. Is the 2T Full Syn XPS oil labeled as E-TEC oil what we are supposed to use in RAVE equipped 787 and 951 engines now?

    Yes, this is the right stuff. If you look at the sticker on the back of the gallon jug there is a circular diagram that shows that it is a full synthetic designed for the E-TEC, DI, SDI, RFI, and CARB Rotax engines. I paid about $50 for a gallon to use in my '98 GTX-RFI but it is worth it. The RAVE valves hardly ever need cleaning and I got 375 hours out of the first engine in it.

    I really love Legend ZX-2R oil. It is the cleanest by far for RAVEs. Now that I have my RXP, my DI does not get as much riding as it used to. I really didn't want to buy the minimum 4 gallons of ZX-2R, but I still may.

    Interesting that BRP combines all of their "performance" (RAVE) 2 strokes together for an oil labeled as ETEC while their ETEC outboards use a different oil named XD 50 or XD 100 depending on injector programming. Seems like some confused marketing to me. Anyone know why BRP has three or four different "ETEC" oils??? There is also a XD 30.
