I pulled the valve cover and the chain is good but noticed copper or brass shaving all over the top end, checked to oil filter and there appears to be no flake in it. I am guessing i need a rebuild, Does any body know what cause this or were all the shavings came from?

What year is the ski? 10.9 or 12.9 bolts?

So out of fear of having this happen to me since I'm already stage 2+ I pulled the motor so I could change out the flywheel bolts. I have the 10.9's so the clock was ticking. The 12.9's are rated at around 180,000 tensile strength so thats about 30,000 more than the 10.9's....The ARP's that I put in are rated at 200,000 so thats a huge improvement. I decided to install a lightweight flywheel since I was going through all this work

Pin the crank gear while you have it open

He means the gear on crankshaft that drives the balance shaft.

I've never heard of that happening before but with these 300 motors having more torque it wouldn't surprise me. Do you have a pic of where its pinned? I looked at mine and there is no pin from gear to crank that I can find. I thought you were referring to the pin that is on the face of the crank gear that clockes the flywheel and stator cup....
