How Hard Is It To Rebiuld My Engine?
How hard is it to rebuild a jet ski engine? If it matters its a '96 SL780, Im kind of thinking about doing it this winter....or sooner if my ski craps out on me
.....shouldnt but ya never know.
Im fairly mechanically inclined, but have never done anything to this extent before and have friends who are awesome with car engines (different I know but still big help)

If you can change brakes on your car then you can rebuild these engines. Very easy, you can even leave it in the PWC if you are just going to replace the pistons.

similarly, I've done a fair bit of top-end work on Motorbikes and stripped and reassembled a KTM 65sx motor before {still had the same gear selection issue
}
if your doing top-end only on one of these 1200 polaris's
how do you satisfy yourself that crank is O.K, wear and bearing condition etc
any tips on these particular motors

find a good 750 crank and new top end , call it over and done with ,
but just make sure your not rebuilding a motor over something simple as a reed issue ,
oh ya im from topeka so i can be here for moral support or if you ever wanna go rideing

Check your crank index. There's a thread in "tech and how to" on how to check it. I'll go over in a bit and see if I can find it for ya.
