    2016 Yamaha VXR vs 2011 & 2016 Seadoo RXT AS260 Race

Guys I have to say I have had my yamaha VXR since 2016 and it just turned 135 hours on it. Me and my wife took it to lake lanier yesterday to ride and chill. We found a nice beach and hungout there for alittle while. I ended up jumping on it while my wife stayed on the island, and ran into a few seadoo guys riding around. I stopped and talked with them and asked about their ski's and what kind of Mods they added if any. The 2011 RXT Red and black AS260 had a Tune done to it and the 2016 RXT AS260 back and yellow was bone stock. I told them about my Mods and we decided to do alittle race accross the lake in a smooth water cove. We lined up and did 2 Rolls from 20 MPH and one from a dead stop. I was shocked by the results....

I won all three races from half of a ski to about two ski lengths. The 2011 Tuned RXT AS260 stayed almost next to me. I was able to get him every race by a half ski. The 2016 RXT AS260 was not even close. I consistley beat his ski by 2 ski lengths just about every run. I really thought they would both kill my VXR on the Top end, but my ski pulled on them every run. The GPS on their Seadoo's said 64-65 mph so my ski must have been doing 66-67 mph. All of the runs were awesome and the VXR beat both skis off the line to about 35 mph then the 2011 RXT would pull within half a ski of mine at the end of the race. What a great day for Yamaha!!! Its good to see a NA modded VXR take out two supercharged RXT's. After the race we all had nothing to say but great things about each others ski.

    Modifications:

    2011 Seadoo RXT AS260: Tune
    2016 Seadoo RXT AS260: Stock
2016 Yamaha VXR: RIVAribbon delete, RIVA Ride Plate, RIVA free flow exhaust

"Reason for the results:" I believe the only reason I won these races is because the seadoo's are so heavy. My ski had half a tank of gas roughly 800lbs where their skis were around 860-1000lbs with gas loaded.

    Glad you had fun.

Those speeds look stock for the Sea-Doos, those are heavy suspension models.

I guess they are but the guy with the 2011 said he hit 65 to 66mph every race. I guess the 2016 was probably 64 mph. Yeah they are very heavy ski's, but it was fun running them. I might add a ECU reflash to my VXR to see if i can get 71 mph out of it. its worth a shot.

I'm wondering if I will have to run 92 octane in my ski if I reflash it or not?? Does anyone know? VXR's run on 87 octane.
