Gp1300r cylinders are different
I'm building an gp1300r engine and one on the cylinders is different from the other two. The skirts at the bottom of the cylinder are the same lenght on one cylinder and there different lengths on the other two of the cylinders. Does this matter? Its a 2003 power valve engine.
Also none of the cylinders have the spot to add the sacrificial anode, do I need the anode? When I first tore the engine down it had a 1200 cylinder in the middle and I got a used 1300 cylinder from Ebay but the skirt lengths are even and like I said the cylinder skirts on my other 2 cylinders are different lengths. Thanks for any info.

The 1300 anodes are in the head ! Looks like the skirts have been cut shorter than the middle one .

Ok that clears up the anode question I got confused because the 1200 cylinder they had on my engine has anode in cylinder thanks. But the cylinder skirts have not been cut the casting is different on on these 1300 cylinders. I'm thinking that 2003 - 2004 cylinders are different than 2005 - 2007. Will the different lenght on the cylinder skirt affect the tune or performance? This thing is killing me on parts.
I surely cant be the first person to discover the cylinder differences but I cant find an reference any where relating to the different cylinder skirt lengths. Thanks for any help. I'm a performance minded person and like things to be in tune.

Are you sure the two with shorter skirts haven't been ported?

Ok now we are getting somewhere. You are correct that they would have to be 2003-2004 cylinders Because they are all power valves but why are the skirts different lenghts?
