GP1200R Carburetors. Are These Carbs Junk?

Looking for some input/opinions. I bought these carbs on eBay so I could re jet them to Osidebillís recipe. I wanted to use another set of carbs in case I ever want to go back to stock or if I screw up. Someone had opened the throats up a bit and I noticed they ground the end of the oil injection nipple a little where it enters the carb. Not sure if that makes any difference at all. I still want to use the oil injection. Hopefully you can see where I mean by the picture. Any input would be great.

    Thanks,Eric

From the pictures, I don't see anything to worry about. However, the critical area is the needle valve, jets, etc.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t sure if the end was supposed to be like a spray nozzle. And yes I was planning on replacing the needle and seat, jets and Mikuni carb kits.

On many of the Yamahas the oil injection simply dribbled oil into the flame arrestor. If you ever watch the system operating, it doesn't 'squirt' oil. The flow rate is so slow that you can barely see it pumping.

Ok thanks Steve. I’ll keep going with the rebuild.

Any idea about the inner venturies being brass? I’ve noticing other carbs are aluminum. The only ones I’ve seen like this are these.
