    Solas 13/19

I would use the stock prop and repitch it to get rpms up to 8000/8100 with the smaller nozzle.I had to repitch the Solas 13/19 to get the 600 rpms I lost from the stock prop. Now I'm hoping the Solas holds up with that much bend on the blade.

On point #4, (and to no discredit to ksalles) I just wanted to remind the group that an after-market pump-cone can equally make the the nozzle vortex effectively "smaller" (or larger) respectively in fine-tuning target RPMs. Furthermore, a cone can also better compliment the jet flow contours (aka center-offset) aka feathering the jet stream velocities.
That said, if using a cone as an alternative to a smaller nozzle, please still consider the larger 2mm mod to the streering nozzle, as less deflection equals more thrust.
Hmm. Good point. Any drawbacks to the cone? Those cones are designed for top end speed, right?

I found a link last night to an old Riva adjustable reduction nozzle for the FZR, where you can swap out different size opening pieces. Not sure they make them anymore though.

So basically do everything else to increase rpm and reduce water drag before adjusting the impeller? And just to be sure, the stock 2016 VXR pitch is 10/17, correct?

ksalles consistently getting to 70 mph with the 13/19 has me pumped...but he did say the stock prop isn’t far behind (he still hit 69+).

I have seen many Solas props blades fail and none on a stock prop.I have a new stock prop on hand if my Solas fails.I have a stock ECU the GPR nozzle and @7860 rpms I'm at 68 to 69.5 depending on fuel level with high humidity and water temp. This winter I might have to put on the FZR nozzle if I hit the limiter with good air and cooler water.

I just bought the 2013 FZR reduction nozzle.
    Pump wedge is up next.
Then some custom side panel work to feed the stock tubes with outside air. These will be re-routed straight to the K&N filter.
    Then a Dean’s re-tune.
Impeller will be last based on everything else.

Too bad I have to wait until the spring.

This was posted here on the forum several years back, using an FXHO - tad slower, yet interesting read.

I have a 13/18 prop on 2015 VXR, with engine tune and custom software getting 8300 rpm and 71 on lake and 73 on river.

The new OEM FZR nozzle arrived today. Ordering a wedge pump soon.
sitting amongst the flexible PVC scoops for the side cowlings (to be trimmed to fit). Ski is at the cottage... gonna have to come up with a reason to head up there soon.

The stock nozzle is 3° and that FZR is 5°, so I don't think you should use another 2° wedge with it to be 4° more angle than stock. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I have a 13/18 from impros that I havent used yet. Are you saying a 13/18 will have less rpm than a stock impeller? I thought 13/19 was the recommended stock replacement?
