    300 v 310 Crankcase

Piecing back together a 2012 300LX that spun several main bearings. What is the difference between the 300 and 310 cases? Part numbers indicate they are not interchangeable. Just looking at my options.

Tried some searches and did not come up with anything.

    Thanks,
    -Greg

You can use either. It's the size of the bolts holding the halfs together that changed from 300/310. Also the 310 got I guess what you would call a windage tray type thing in the pan

Heck I'm 99.9% sure because your lx is NA you could use any 250/260/300/310 cases. You dont need the supercharger mounting boss which that and the bolt size is all that really changed

It's a 300LX, so yes, supercharged. Thanks on the 300/310 case tip. I'll be sure to get a set of case bolts with my purchase. Opens my options quite a bit.

Looks like the pan is the same among all skis going back to 2005. 49034-3702

I bought a 310X case/crank, and can report on the differences (pics enclosed). From what I can see:

    1) 310X has grooves on the top mains #1, #3, #5 (300X does not)
    2) Oil drain holes are much larger on the 310X

I do not see any other differences.

Did they give you the windage trey deal with the 310 case? I would guess maybe not 100% needed but with the larger drain back holes they probably help keep oil from sloshing back up onto the crankClick image for larger version.

No, they did not. Thanks. I'll order a set. Maybe somewhere else but partzilla.com as they are taking forever to fill orders.

I did check part numbers on the pan and oil pump assembly, and they are all the same even back to the older N/A skis.

Ah man I love partzilla. 99% of the time i get my stuff in 2 days but with the times I think they're having issues getting parts from manufacturer's and it definitely is taking quite a bit of time.....

Yes, a bunch of parts will be delivered this Tue, which is a full two weeks from when the orders were placed. All items were listed as in stock at the time.
