A little WD-40 might help. They should be tight due to the o-ring. Are they corroded? I'm assuming you took the hold down clip off, correct? If they're not corroded that should come out by wiggling and twisting them. If all else fails, you can use an EZ bolt extractor but it will destroy the seat, but it sounds like you've already done that.

I’ve used a screw to force “thread” in. And then pull on that. Same as extractor. Will destroy it.

I bet the last rebuilder didn’t bother replacing it.

Got it out and yes the o ring is in bad shape. Explains why it was frozen in place. This confirms my mechanic didn’t replace it and I’m certain this is why I’m experiencing a bog from 0-25 throttle. It’s also the 1.2 which is factory. I’ve ordered three replacements and new rebuilding kits. All genuine Mikuni. Thanks for all the info and I’ll definitely keep the thread updated. I’m sure this will help others.

So if the D-Plate requires the additional 1/4” screw out adjustment does that mean the center carb should only be 1 turn out? The factory position is 3/4 out. Must be because of the accelerator pumps?

I’ve started rebuilding the carbs with the I series Mikuni kits. The spring that comes with the kit is listed as the 115gm. Looks to be the same size as what was previously in the carbs. I have everything stock including the 117/87 jets and 1.2 needle/seat. Should I be using it? Is this the factory setup with the high pop off?

I always reuse what springs were in the carbs. As long as pop off is still checked after rebuild.
