    160 thermostat worth any benefit?

Are you better off running a 160 thermostat regardless if the engine is stock or slightly modified? Will the engine run efficiently at 160?

They run great with a 160 thermostat, stock or modified. Your engine will still run 180-190 with a 160 thermostat.

I am seeing 192F at 13-14 Psi. 195 through 220F is the typical efficient range for combustion engines. Looks like 175F or lower can increase engine wear, oil will not be warm enough for bearings/clearance fill..
