    310 Faulty ECU scandal ?

so were still ski-less after our disaster with 2 defective 2019 310s. I have recently heard a report that Kawi purchased back a 2018 in september of 2019, due to the same issues they were unable to solve, so it appears this problem has existed for at least 2 model years. I received word in december that Kawi solved the problem and that it's fixed for the curent year model. Anywho, found 2 local left over 2019's for a good price, but i'm still very skeptical and were still on the fence about buying 2020 310s. I like the look of the stx 160x and had kawi brought the black and green stx-160 to the US instead of whatever that color is, they would have sold us at least one of them.... I've received a ton of surveys from Kawi over the past 6 months about what i'd like to see in a jet-ski so i dont know if they are closing up shop or have something planned since the 2020 310r is identical to the 2019 310r.... they didn't even give it BNG... sooooo might stay ski-less another season and see what they have in store ( if anything ) for 2021

Well, there is the STX160LX which is candy green/black. 11.9K with stereo...
Though not historically a regular color the orange 310 is a bad ass looking ski on the water.
I understand your trepidation but Kawasaki would be the least worrisome to me as far as dealing with issues/warranty.
I do not think there are any ECU issues, BTW.

Do you know if the speakers are removable from the 160 lx ?

There were plenty of documented " ECU " problems that I don't think kawi ever really figured out as they were still buying defective skis back as late as November 2019.

I hate the thought of spending 17k on a 2020 310r when i can get a 2019 310r for 13k and its pretty much exactly the same ski, but as you can imagine were still gun shy... not sure what were doing yet for 2020 season.

I would buy the 2019. Usually left overs come with the 5year warranty as well.
