Scoop for a seadoo boat restrictive or Not?

A friend has a modified seadoo speedster 150. The present air intake is 4 inches and has a riva non/gauze filter on it located within the engine compartment and close to some openings to the side by a speaker. Both speakers in front of the boat have no gut, just the speaker face grill which has large openings for air to flow in to the engine compartment. There are also an additional 4 x 3 inch openings around and under neat the perimeter of the hinged engine hatch.
He has removed the large tanning board/hatch over the engine compartment. The white cover under neat the large hinged hatch remains in place to cover the engine, he added some latched for that.
There is a large flat surface at the rear where the hinged cover would have otherwise be covering it.
They are thinking of adding a scoop (Mad Max) Look to that rear flat surface for the 4 inch intake to feed from. The 4 inch flex tube would now be 2-3 feet long with 1 x 90 degree bend instead of a 6 feet flex tube with 1x 90 bend.
How restrictive would these scoops be if any? No Filter and really no way for water to really get in with large quantities.
I'll attach pictures. 1 has a 9 inch opening 9X10 inches. And the other is 6x6 inches.

I do not think you will see any improvement over what you have done now...
I used to own that same boat....
X-charger and green injectors are the best way for more power!
