    2010 FZS vs. 2015 FZS

Whatís going on everyone! Iím vinny, new to green hulk not new to PWCís. I have owned a VXS, VXR, VX Cruiser, and a FX Cruiser HO. All have treated me extremely well and Iíve enjoyed every minute of owning them. Now as the summer season is nearing, I have started my search for a new (but used) waverunner. This time around I am considering 2 waveunners tjat are supercharged, something Iíve always stayed away from. All and any advice is greatly appreciated.

Please help steer me in the right direction!

    2010 Fzs with 92 hours
    vs.
    2015 Fzs with 94 hours.

both are being sold from a dealer and there is a 3000 dollar difference. What would you guys do? Should I be worried about anything in particular such as the supercharger ?

    thanks !

Welcome Vinny. I never owned a 10 model FZ, but have rode them back in the days when they came out 09 time frame. I wasn’t amazed coming from owning a 08 SD RXP-X 255 at the time. It was okay overall, with that being said I own a 15 FZR. It truly felt night and day different. Keep in mind it’s much lighter with the Nanoxcel 2 material both top and bottom of the ski’s material. The 14-16 yr models FZ’s tamaha stepped up the game as well. Bigger SC, Intercooler, oil cooler to name just a few changes. You can search the models to read all of the improvements. And if you ever plan to modify the ski, that’s a whole different story as well. Also check to see if the 15’ has a extended warranty left by chance. I still have a few more months on my FZ. Hope this helps, good luck with your purchase.

'15 definitely the way to go. Timing chain upgraded?, 160mm pump setup and next gen supercharger. Well worth the 3,000

I would stay away from the 15 unless you can get a Yamaha extended warranty or they can prove that they replaced the chain - the chains break and itís a 10k fix

If it`s supercharged they had problems with their clutches.

The only thing I would worry about with the 15 is the timing chain...

I’m most concerned with reliability. I normally buy a ski and keep it a season (30-40 hours) maybe two the most. I like to switch it up.

    from everyone’s experience, what eould
    the more reliable ski be?

If the chain was done on the 15 would last and I wouldn't have any worries about it.

Ultimately your decision. Fortunately enough my motor was replaced at 270 hours by dealer. I’m sure it could have been fixed vs replaced, but I wasn’t arguing that. Dealer stepped up and talked to rep & Yamaha. They both agreed replacing was best. It wasn’t do to a timing chain. Motor was still running, it was getting a little water in the oil. Possibly cracked head, oil cooler leak again, bad thermostat. Either way I had the extended warranty. Believe it was in 2017, talking to dealer it sounded like the new motor was updated with the Latest at that time. Anyway, I currently have 532+hrs. Stock supercharger, clutches & Intercooler! The only other parts changed was recent (495hrs) pump bearings. So who knows, you will just have to make that choice for yourself moving forward. I really like my FZR no plans of getting rid of old girl. Several times I have crossed over to Bimini and back. Will do it again
