    2006 RXT 215 Broken Screen

I just bought a 2006 RXT 215. The seller didn't mention that the screen is broken but I drove 3 hours to get it so I couldn't really turn back. It appears that water got inside the screen and then froze so the inside is completely ruined.

Now my question is that will the ski start with a broken screen? When I put the key in it makes a bunch of beeps and when I press the starter it just clicks. (I'm rebuilding the engine as we speak so that's a separate issue.) I just dont want to put the freshly built engine back in and not be able to see if it runs because of the screen.

it will start, but the beeping is going to drive you crazy due to lack of communication between the console and the emm

Bonus?..those console fail like mad dogs, anyway

used ones run from 300+ what the market will bear

and you could have bailed yanno.

Thanks for the reply! I will buy a new one before I get it out on the water. I just can't belive how expensive they are still for such an old ski...

So, the seller lied about the model and then failed to disclose a high price part was broken?

I hope you got that for a really good price. Who knows what else you'll discover.

Yeah it appears so. I got the ski, cover, and trailer for $1,200 so I can't really complain i'm just sort of annoyed. I'm trying to put the thing back togeter to get it running since I'm re doing basically everything on it. It's getting all new gaskets, spark plugs, coils, arp flywheel bolts, updated valves, starter, starter solenoid, etc.

The high failure rate means the used parts market is tight

    Repairs generally not possible

During the season the prices are at max level try to pickup one soon

Post a pic, some can be repaired if its the LCD screen. Do the needles move when you put the DESS key on?
