Hydrospace Runabout
Hydrospace Working on New PWC

Hydrospace's S4 stand-up may soon have company. The Austrian company recently announced the acquisition of Benelli Motori, part of European motorcycle powerhouse Benelli. The acquisition has resulted in a new name--HSR-BENELLI--and reliable rumors that the company will be producing its first runabout for 2008.
"It's big news." says Hydrospace-USA's Dave Bamdas, who likens the relationship to another Austrian company, Rotax, building engines for BRP. "For them to take the step of acquiring an engine manufacturer so that they can control their own destiny, now they can do everything internally."
While the S4 stand-up will continue to be powered by Weber engines for the immediate future, the Benelli acquisition will be used to build high-horsepower runabout engines. The two companies have reportedly been working together for more than a year, and up to a trio of two-passenger performance models is expected in the next model year.
"With this runabout, they have the potential to be the Ferrari or Maserati of the watercraft industry," continues Bamdas. "They are all about racing, all about ultimate performance, and that's where they're going to remain. They're not going to make a three-seater, they're not going to make an entry-level four-stroke. They're going to make the premier, cutting-edge, carbon-fiber bad-ass on the showroom floor. They're really driven."
Current indications are that horsepower ratings will be in excess of 300 hp. European test pilots are reportedly already evaluating hull designs in Europe.
"They're big horsepower," confirms Bamdas. "It's going to be a neat product line."

Vision Hydrospace
It is just a line on a white sheet of paper. It is the beginning of the expansion of our product range: The Runabout.
At the moment we are still in a stage of development. The lines are getting clearer. The ideas are getting more precise.
Soon it will no longer be just an experiment, but a clear concept.
The result: A Runabout that will be talked about. Not some time or other, but right from the beginning.
Read more about current results soon in our news. See you there.

I heard rumors about this ski ...it will be an eye opener performance wise....but NOTHING compared to the eye opener the price tag will be !!
For those Ferrari owners willing to spend the $$ and who want top turn key performance this will no doubt be the ticket. However, it will be fun to watch some of the existing modified craft blow by it at a fraction of the price ! I'll bet the look in the eyes of the Hydrospace owners will be similiar to the look the owners of the $300,000+ sports cars have when a croch rocket bike blows them away !!!!

Does Dave Bamdas no longer work for Riva? He is/was part owner, or is he selling the standups at Riva?
