Vacation - Panama City Beach or Gulf Shores?

Vacation - Panama City Beach or Gulf Shores?

I have vacationed in PCB 3 or 4 times. Stayed at Sandpiper Beacon resort. Ate at Pineapple Willys, Angelo's steak pit etc. rented a pontoon half a day to go to/around Shell Island.

I would like to try another area this summer like Gulf Shores but i can never find a place to stay comparable to Sandpiper which has 3 pools, lazy river, hot tub area, a grill onsite, tiki bar area.

does anyone know of a place like it in the GS area? restaurants/activities similar?

would like to rent a couple PWC's for me and my son to ride in ocean just so we can say we rode in it.

I would like to have these amenities but beach front if possible. I may be spoiled by staying at Sandpiper by being able to just go to beach and back to room anytime i felt like it. I just like that better than loading up and going and having to stay at the beach for hours and hours then load up and go back to hotel.

Understand. It's a nice area. Perdido key, and orange beach are better for riding skis. Robinson island, lunch at pirates cove... ect. Then can take a ride past Perdido key, to Fort McRee.

and can still see Gulf Shores. Gulf shores and orange beach side by side.

or stay in gulf shores, and line up rentals over in orange beach for better riding.

I live in Perdido key....he is right on the money!
Robinson Island and Pirates Cove are great!

The monster sand dunes at Fort McRae and Fort Pickens are awesome!

now that i am looking at that area it is making me want to take my own PWC's and ride.

do any of you know a secure place i could have keep mine while down there? my fear is theft and if i just want to go eat etc and not pull them around and want them secure somewhere and where to launch them.

We leave ours locked on trailer. Never had any issues. But I have pulled my 34 Baja before and called a
local storage place and they let me park it in locked fence area 24 hr access code for 25 bucks for the week. So we left boat and did a week in condo with family and then got boat and did a week boating down there as well. So storage places are key down there.

not that it maters for skis but it's super hard to find over night boat trailer parking if you launch and staying in boat. It's a Florida issue ha.

well. . . . . I just checked out some beach front places that i could find online and WOW those prices are more than double what I paid for Sandpiper.

so. . . . either my budget has to triple or I might be just taking my PWC's to the local rivers/lakes this summer and riding.
