    96 SLT 780 Resurrection

In the process of trying to get this up and running again. The steering cable is locked up, anyone have one they are willing so sale? Also, I have found that the nozzle housing has a crack where the water pick up tube connects, is this a show stopper, do I need to source a replacement? I will try to post a picture if I can figure out how.

Here is a picture of how you can free up the cable using spray cable lube from any auto parts store. I do this for all my cables and it works very well.

Well busted the old steering cable getting it out. Twisted the threaded portion of it off where it mounts to the bracket under the dash. Guy down the street has a 750 sitting on the ground in the yard, wonder if the steering cable will fit from it.

No. SLT is the 3 seater and the cable is longer than the SL 2 seater. Unless it's the SLT 750. And even then the cable won't work because they didn't use the extended jet pump like the 780.

Can you explain slightly further? So far I gather that you tie it to a kite. Then do you fly it in a thunderstorm?

Looks like he’s poked a hole in a plastic bag, taped the cable into said hole, put some oil in the bag and then hung the whole works from a bungee cord.

That is correct! I sprayed quite a bit of the cable lube in the bag so that gravity could work its magic. The tape of course was to seal the hole so it didn't completely leak everywhere...buuuuut be sure you do this outside haha
