How many hours before you had to replace pump bearings on your ski ?

Mine is 2013 ultra lx At 160 the rear bearing failed. The front 2 were still like new but I replaced everything.

On my '15 STX-15F (which has the same engine) I've had pump bearings replaced twice in 140 hours. This is with salt water use over a three year period. I remove the pump cone every year or so to visually look for water in the bearing area. If I see water I have the bearings replaced so as a preventative measure.

If you spend much time reading the stuff on this forum, you'll see that Kawasaki jet pumps are a routine maintenance item. There are some people here that overhaul their pumps every year.

Make sure you look though the problems with cooling system and exhaust system components corroding.

I know itís common was just curious if there was a pattern. I actually paid the dealer to check my pump before the warranty ran out at 125 hrs. They said it was like new then it failed at 160. When I took it apart it was obvious they had not checked the bearings.

What corrosion problems ? I read a few post but they are not very clear. Something about a filter in the exaust or something. I thought maybe it was only supercharged skis

pull pump at the end of each season to check for water intrusion or impending bearing death

pull 2x a year if you do lots of wake jumping or other stunts

I've seen brand new pumps go out with as little as 50 hours on them

too much time running on the hose will shorten their lifespan considerably as once the seals fail, the countdown timer to death starts

Ya for sure I just bought my ski last spring and was planning to do bearings over winter but it didnít make it. It was a pretty easy job to do. I had paid the dealer to look at them right before my warranty ran out but apparently they didnít because when I took it apart you could tell it had never been off. Thatís why in my video I was so pissed off lol
