    Engine Paint

Any recommendations on what paint to use on the motor. I pulled it today and it has some corrosion and rough spots so I was going to brush it down and spray it with something I can get from Lowe's or Walmart. I like the shiney of the original paint. I get it needs to be somewhat heat resistant but what is best for it always getting wet. Also was thinking of spraying the inside hull after I clean it if it's possible but probably just cleaning.

VHT or if you want a real one and done use tractor(implement) paint but use a real spray gun for it. These engines to not get hot enough to damage the implement. I used it on the 05 and use it on a toy trailer I built.

If you want stuff that works really well, there is a lot of prep work and work. It’s not cheap but check out the engine line stuff of por15. Some of them can be even put over rust and is tough as nails.

Its all about the prep work. I used Rustoleum high temperature with the mat black option. Holds strong now for years.

Thanks guys. Well it's pulled out so prep will be easy ish. I'll wire brush and sand the entire thing and then spray a few coats. Gonna be like new. I love the winter project. And I'm a. Landscaper so at shop we are just sitting around this time of year anyhow.
