P1655 after Riva Racing Pro series ecu swap

    Hello all,

just picked up a candoo and a new cluster preloaded with the software for my 06 RXP. I married the cluster to my existing existing and all went fine. Decided to swap in the Riva pro series ecu and it gives me a p1655 DESS post error and won’t crank. There is nothing wrong with the post. When I swap back to the old ecu it fires right up. Any ideas?

Try marrying a key to the riva ecu or turn off the dess.

You will need to re marry the cluster with the RIVA ECU

remarried the cluster to the rr ecu and also tried deactivating DESS. Still code p1655 and no crank. Tried installing 2 good keys again, no go. Tried checking the connection for the post all was clean. Still this stupid code. I’ve tried clearing it tons of times and it just comes back. Everything works fine with original ecu (have to remarry the cluster each time I swap).

It sounds like you need to have a conversation with Jesus.

I purchased the ecu from another forum member from a running ski but I have no way of verifying since I live on Guam.

Looks like I may have found the problem! There is a pin on the b connector that is bent. I bet that’s the problem. Will fix and report back.
