So Guys whats the big difference running the Solas 13/ 18 vs an Solas Dual 12/18 Impeller

The most people run the Solas 13/18 so nobody talks about the dual prop.....

For a big power setup the dual impeller is the only way to go. The 13/18 will cavitate on hard launch on high power skis.

What do you consider big power?

I was planning on upgrading to a dual impeller when I added my new Fizzle intercooler so I could eliminate the cavitation out of the hole and increase acceleration but when I spoke to Deans Team about getting the dual and changing my tune to match, they said they really don't suggest the dual impeller unless you are able to spin it 9000 rpm or more otherwise you just aren't giving it enough power to really get the most out of it so they said to stick with the 13/18 for best overall performance. I don't have retainers installed so I'm limited to 8600 rpms but if you have the retainers upgraded you can make the proper modifications to spin the dual up over 9000. I'm considering upgrading my retainers just so I can move up to the dual impeller

If you're turning 8,600 you should have retainers in now regardless if you want to turn it up to 9,000.

Splitting hairs but the stock retainers should be good for 8650 rpms I thought.

You are correct. The SVHO is safe with the stock valve train to 8650. Any higher than that and you need retainers.

On my IJSBA compliant stock 19GP I run a 12/18 twin prop that has been tweaked to spin at 8650.
I can still get it to cavitate but not any where as bad as a 13/18. The power delivery of the twin-prop is very linea compared to the mid range punch that the 13/18 delivers. The 13/18 will get to a top speed of 126-127km/h compared to 124km/h of the twin-prop.
All depends what conditions you are riding in to what prop you want to run on the day. some days I prefer the twin other the 13/18..
The twin prop I have has been highly modified so comparing it to a off the shelf one isnt really fair.

so best allrounder is the 13/18 i gues..i run it on my last 2 GP and it spinns to the hell which is great for me...i think i dont want to spent that much money for the twin prop to be slower...i want as fast as possible on glass water...so in the ocean yes maybe the twin should be better
