    Intercooler Upgrade

Is it worth doing an intercooler upgrade on a Wake Pro 215? Not so much for speed but just to keep everything running cooler and smoother?
Reliability being key, Any pics of the upgrade process, what's involved?

    Cheers,
    Rob

the 215 intercooler is in the manifold and is almost bullet proof
it works fine for a stockish 215
adding a intercooler you will add 2 more charge tubes and then mount the intercooler
they all can fail if not installed correctly

An intercooler upgrade is worth about 2.5 to 3 MPH top end speed gain and a lot more consistency in the hotter weather.

The stock intercooler will be your most reliable option. The external intercooler keeps charge air going into the engine cooler which give better performance. If you're wanting reliability, stick with the stock IC, if you want better performance, go with the external IC.

Go with fizzle and you never worry about it again. Best intercooler in the market and a super after sale service.

I had no problem with my stock IC, went with an external IC and it leaked. I think the stock ICs are made of brass and are very resistant to salt water corrosion, the external ICs are made of aluminum and are very prone to salt water corrosion.

Same here, though I haven't had a leaking external one yet when a strainer is installed.. Knock on wood.. Those Bazooka styled inter coolers last forever even without a strainer. I can say that the F1000 condensates like a horny bitch but it does give you COLDER AIR.. Even the external cold side of the inter cooler hose sweats..
