    Is MSX a dead breed.

I was wondering if anyone still run any of the MSX skis anymore or are they a dead breed? I have 3 but only one runs at this time.

Well, all Polaris watercraft are long out of production.

There are two kinds of Polaris MSX watercraft. The 2-stroke Ficht injected MSX 140 and the 4-stroke turbo Weber engined MSX 110 and MSX 150 models.

Examples of both are running around.

I love my MSX 140, but when it dies (again) I probably won't rebuild it (again). That'll be the time I buy a newer PWC, something more maintainable. But it's a great boat, lots of fun.

Here in MN, the market is still active and strong for Polaris watercraft. The season is so short, 8 weeks at best, that they don't accumulate much for hours. I acquired another MSX140 last summer with less than 100 hours on it.

I typically perform a bow to stern "go through" when acquiring a new PWC, making all the updates/improvements I've gleaned for this site and personal experience.

I have a MSX140 that I keep running locally. Honestly it just keeps going with minor little odds and ends. I am the only one for many miles who will touch it. The owner knows a computer failure will be the end of it.

EMM failure is easily repaired for less than 500 bucks. And it’s better than new

It would be unfortunate to give up on an otherwise good running ski for a computer failure. Lakeside Tech will be glad to fix the EMM, should it ever need repair

True, and I will suggest it. But I think they are wanting to move to a newer boat. It will probably end up in my collection at that point. I really enjoy riding it when i work on it.
