2008 RXP 255 Oil in Intercooler

    Hi Guys

I recently purchased a 2008 RXP 255 ski took it out the first time after owner had it sitting for 2 years and found a rust hole in the intercooler.

Took it out and gave it to a guy to weld and as the photos show he done a shocking job but it has sealed it.

But after taking the jetski out after the first 5 minutes my ski really struggled and felt bogged down.

I usually get 113kmph and about 8000rpm but it would struggle to get to 100kmph and sat at about 7000rpm

Sometimes it would clear for a few seconds then I would lose all zip.

Pulled it back apart and found all this sludge and grease build up on one side of the intercooler. Now im guessing this is engine oil somehow ? The sludge is only on one side of the intercooler which i presume is the inlet side ?

Can someone please give me some advice and not short code parts or problems as I'm only new to this.

Would this be why my ski lacked power and zip ?

    Thanks

Check and see if there is oil in your Supercharger. The back seal might be bad. Also throw away that Intercooler. Because according to the white paste on your finger, it's still leaking. Other wise clean it and pressure test it. Also a catch can is not a bad Idea either. Good luck!

just took the main hoses off to the supercharger and found oil as shown - havent take the supercharger apart as of yet but do you feel like it might be the seal going by the amount of oil so far?

thanks heaps for your help so far!!

could you explain the catch can for me also sorry?

how can you tell if the sc seal is leaking ? first thing you need to do is stop the oil from coming through the breather by way of a catch can. then if you still have oil in the sc it would be the seal.
