Warranty?
Will Kawasaki do anything about the poor paint under the warranty? Also . . . I keep reading that some of these have issues with the paint . . . is any color more prone to problems?

Had a 1100ZXI that had the same problem with the paint. I was able to remove all the decals with no problem with the paint, but after awhile the paint would blister and peel even where there had been no decals. I believe some of the problem is the material the ski is made of, since it is not fiberglass. Also noticed that it was more prone to blistering if the unit was damp. Was out of warranty when the paint problem happened.

Here are some photos showing the "paint issues" that have been discussed. The crinkling of the silver on the bow started when a friend slowly motored into the transom of my other friend's boat (another OPASS incident). I knew what was going to happen but I knew better than to stick my foot out to try and prevent it. Don't be confused by the plain old water spots--my little digital camera just has better resolution than I thought and light conditions were not ideal. This crinkling doesnt really bother me & I'm assuming that I could just replace the whole plastic piece if I want to. The paint fade or ruboff on the side is I think caused by plain friction from my wet suit. Same thing as when the gas tank on my old suzuki rubbed off from gripping with knees in leathers. I've not tried to buff it out with anything so far. Right now these little battle scars don't really bother me so I'm not too worried and I can't see blamin Kawi for it--she is still the purtiest thing I ever did see!
