    2005 FX HO engine

I have a complete 2005 FX HO engine that has a external leak in the block. Not sure if it was a poor casting or a deterioration of the metal.

    It ran prior to removing.

The crank, pistons, complete head is still good.

Make an offer on what you want.

What model year is the engine?

I'm in Michigan. I'm trying to get the value of the parts but would accept a reasonable offer to sell the whole thing

Can you post a pic of the block where it leaks? Inside and out, if possible.

Also, a tech tip... Yamaha made it easy to figure out where the cam holders go without having to mark them. They are marked "L" and "R", which corresponds to their position when the timing chain is on your right. They also have arrows that point towards the timing chain.

Thank you. I did not know that. I will post a picture shortly

Looks like an attempt to fix it by the previous owner with JB weld didnít work.

Looks like it rotted thru and cracked. If it was just a hole, I'd take a shot at brazing it. But I wouldn't even try to fix the crack.

I'd guess it was left to freeze with water in the block. It cracked first, then the crack rotted thru.

I was reading online and there are techniques to repair this from the inside by pouring in a high temp epoxy and allowing it to form into the crack and it works well but Iím not interested in doing it
