Kurt, If you are running the RIVA stage 1 mods then you need to be running the Solas impeller that is part of the RIVA stage 1 kit.

This not always true. I installed a solas 11/15 in my '18 vxr rpm went up to 8500 from 8000 and speed went down to 65 from 67. After being installed for about 20 hours it ripped a blade from the rear forward so I know it wasn't an impact that caused my failure. With that said I have a solas 13/20 in my '18 GP and couldn't be more happy with it. Back to the VXR it seems to be happiest at 8,000 rpm anything more you're just spinning a prop faster with less push.

There have been some well documented problems with the Solas slinging blades off. If I ventured to take a guess....my money would be some, but not all, were pitched too much. What I mean by that is they were bent too much during tuning. If Solas manufactured a prop in the pitches we asked them for....I think the problem would be eliminated. And besides....they were not made to be turned 9500 RPMs either.

Look into a 13/19. I believe it is for the 155 sho, and pitch it appropriately from there to fit your power band. This casting is apparently a stronger than the 11/15 casting thats new.
