Oil Filter upgrade question

I have a 2013 Sea Doo RXP X 260 with a Riva stage 2 on it. I was looking to do an oil change and use the new 300 oil filter that has steel mesh. Is this the same size? Anyone done this already?

Yes you can use the 300 filter in the older 4-Tec skis

actually a far better filter for a couple of bucks more. I don't even bother keeping stock on the older filters anymore

As far as I know, neither come with the cap o-rings. Non I have bought in the last 5 years be it old or new style had any in the box.

no change in the filter fit as far as I can see, I assume the older style filter will be discontinued at some point when the current stock runs out.

There's nothing wrong with the old style filters, the new ones have the steel mesh to help prevent them from collapsing. I've only seen that happen when you get water in the oil. And then you've got bigger problems and you have to replace the filter anyway.
