    Yamaha Diagnostic hours question

I hooked up yamaha diagostic v 1.33 to a 2006 vx110, does anyone know how the total hrs are calculated?

The total hrs show 655.3 but if you add up all the rpm range hours it comes to 1,440 hrs.
    Am I missing something?

Data Logger[Engine operating hours according to engine speed],
    ,Engine speed,Time[h],
    , 0- 2000 r/min, 348.48,
    ,2000 - 4000 r/min, 171.13,
    ,4000 - 6000 r/min, 345.34,
    ,6000 - 8000 r/min, 494.38,
    ,8000 - 10000 r/min, 81.61,
    ,10000 - 12000 r/min, 0.00,
    ,Engine hours, 655.3,

Thanks, it is possible to reset the total hrs when a new engine was installed but not reset the rpm hours? Or could the total hours feature have broke/froze but not the rpm hours? Weird!

As far as I was aware (all ecus can be messed with) the engine hours on ecu and clocks were different counters what does clocks show?

new engine unless it had a new ecu the hours would carry on.......???

found one the other day where clocks had 140 and ecu 80 not seen that before......

The display shows 655 hrs, I don't know the history of the ski but there was a sticker I found from 2008 that said the engine oil needed to be changed at 690 hrs, I'm sure it was an ex-rental ski

ECU hours will add correctly. That said, there are two runtime counters on the ski, a) the ECU, and b) the cluster/gauges.
Over-time, sure, the two will drift apart slightly, yet stay relatively close, like 1%-2% difference only.
The fact that these don’t agree by a long-shot means either (or both) are not original (aka swapped).
If I were a betting-man, I’d put money on the actual hours being 1,440.

Does yds show 655 or the clocks show 655? If yds shows 655 and the cumulative hours are 1440 then not sure how it’s been done but I would say 1440 closer to the real, if clocks shows 655 and yds 1440 then that’s easily explained but does look weird

    The YDS screen/print-out shows both:
ECU hours are reported in RPM zones, so you need to total them.
That last metric called "total" is coming (queried) from the gauge cluster.
    * If my memory is correct.

hmmmmm there is a difference between the clocks on mine and ecu but not by much I thought the 2 values (in the fx at least were independent) clocks count hours and ecu counts hours and changing ecu or clocks would give different results ie fit new ecu the hours start again at 0 but clocks stay the same, likewise fit new clocks and hours start at 0 but ecu remains unaffected
