    Kawasaki STXR 1200 ultra 150 crankshaft rebuilders?

    Who is the go-to crank servicer now? I have a stxr that I took apart and just want to make sure all is done correctly. I want seals replaced at a minimum. The bearings seem to be in good shape but the cases were a little crusty and I am concerned that some debris may have gotten in the bearings in the process.

    Seals you can do yourself, like stated in other posts i have used pwc engines on 3 occasions and have had excellent turn outs. You can go with crank works but when i called for a price quote they wanted over 1k to rebuild it. Dont even look at spt.

    Thanks for the reply. I got new oem seals in the mail a few days ago but I am waiting on the tool to pull the coupler now. The bearings all feel good as do the connecting rods this was more for peace of mind since I have the motor apart anywyas for new pistons and cylinders.

    Im kicking myself because I mistakenly bought 80.50mm oversize wiseco pistons a few years ago and just found out now which means I have 3 cylinders to bore/replate rather than 1. Yay...

    Would be cheaper to purchase a new set of pistons then over bore and replate. Forged pistons were never really recommend for kawi 1200's. If those seize you normally get more then a broken piston you get rod damage, atleast thats what i have always been told. In my polaris 400 weisco is the recommend upgrade, but the stockers are known to crack.
