Help removing 4-tec PTO (Output sleeve)

I need some help figuring out how to remove the PTO output sleeve from my '13 RXT-X.

The engine mounts let loose doing 65 mph and moved the engine forward. It looks like it had some metal grind in the teeth of the output shaft which is preventing me from installing the driveshaft. I understand from the seadoo manual I can use the impeller tool 529035820 to remove the shaft, but if I can't get a driveshaft into it, I suspect the tool will not work either. Has anyone else run into this and knows how to swap out the output sleeve when the thread may be damaged?

    Suck out oil
    Remove oil filter
    Remove engine from hull
    Remove PTO cover
Remove and clean the oil pump screen (it will catch most of the metal)
    Inspect oil pump
    Remove front oil pump (inspect)
    Flush/drain
Remove the DS bumper, rubber seal, and plastic holder in the PTO coupler
Heat the PTO coupler evenly all around....
Use the proper sized impeller tool and using a impact gun remove PTO coupler (reverse thread)

Thanks for the nicely detailed steps, that will definitely help. I've got the new coupler but the proper impeller won't go in more than 2-3 mm, same as the driveshaft Since it gets torqued to 184 ft lbs, I'm guessing it's going to be quite hard to remove.
Any suggestions when the (right sized) impeller tool won't go in?
