    Do I need a tune? 2005 RXP

Hey everyone. Right now my ski does about 74mph, has the x charger, 42lb injectors, 4" air intake, and free flow exhaust, as well as a repitched 14/19 Solas prop, r&d intake grate, Riva pro opas block offs, etc.

So the ski is still running the stock ecu and stock intercooler. I want to upgrade the intercooler to a Fizzle XS, but am curious if I will need a tune with it or would I be fine just running it? Ski hits 8100rpm right now. Would the rev limiter stop it at 8200?

    Thanks

If you add an intercooler you will need to either install a RRFPR to supply enough fuel, or do the MaptunerX reflash. There's a great MaptunerX tune for the X charger and 42 lb injectors and external intercooler setups. You will go with the 8350 RPM tune which is safe for the stock valve train.
If you install the Supertech Spring and Retainer kit you can go with the 8650 tune which will greatly improve performance over the 8350 tune.

I find it hard to believe your doing 74 now with the stock intercooler. I only saw that speed with the Fizzle installed and those mods.

Did you have a tune or RRFPR with your set up? And 74 is what I was told. I have not used an actual GPS to measure. I know that I pull on my brother's new 2019 GTX 230 which does 69.
