JS650sx impeller shaft grinding and only turns 1/4 turn?

Pulled engine forward to discouple from drive shaft.1, Will the bearings at back of hull create this much resistance or would shaft be bent? 2, Can I test this or remove shaft without pulling the engine? 3, This ski is unmolested .I am reasoning that maybe I should test starting system before pulling everything apart please Advise. Welcome aboard, ronrymanr1!

Sounds like you have corrosion in the pump housing, which forces the liner inward, causing it to rub on the impeller. All too common, really. You'll most likely have to replace the pump housing.

Pull the jet pump off and inspect it.

thank you. Is it cost efective to have it bored out and sleaved. Or buy used on ebay? With it stuck can i unscrew the coupler end ofshaft head to test ignition before i pull engine out of the hull.? Click image for larger version.

You might be able to get it re-sleeved. The Kawasaki housings are not intended to be repaired (unlike some other brands), but there are people that do it. SBT does a lot of pump repair, so you might start there.

You can run the engine with the driveshaft disconnected from it. Do NOT remove the pump and run the engine with the driveshaft engaged to the engine. It will whip around and cause a lot of damage to your 'Ski.

Not really. Look for one that doesn't have any wear marks in it.
