Thanks for the step-by-step! I don’t see how I cannot go with a better pole and spring, sooner than later. (Between “Mayhem” being in storage til April and holiday travel & spending, though ... gonna have to wait, ha-ha!). Our trips south to the Gulf coast of FL are slated to get longer and longer each year so, I see the possibility of my seasons getting extended (man, that’d be awesome!). I just wish there were more freshwater lakes to ride on, in FL ....

Those sponsons do look badazz, btw!

Yeah this isnt really a project but more of a 1500 build etc. Wanted to put this out there because there just isnt a lot of people doing this online for the SXR 1500. give people ideas etc on their own skis. Will have more soon. Purchased a mat kit from Jettrim. going to have the stock prop professionally kicked and a Cabrera motorsports 93 octane tune. Would like to get some sort of lightened shorter pole than stock and also really want that vented hood from Freedom Racing out of Thailand.

Got a Wamiltons customs hood coming in black. Wamilton is a great guy. Check out his business
    www.wamiltons.com
Hood will shave off 16 pounds. With the stock airbox gone and a different handlepole should be at least 20 pound weight savings.

Couple thoughts on previous posts.....went with the Wamiltons hood due to price availability customer service and quality. Really like the Freedom racing hood out of Thailand but by the time its shipped it's over a thousand dollars so no go for me. Plus...I gained a new friend in the personal watercraft world Wamilton Teixeira. At this point I will not be tuning/flashing the ECU. Instead of spending 500 to 600 on that iam getting everything else done and riding the ski hard for how it sits performance wise. The ski is fast as it is. Not racing it at this point so no need for more out of the hole and more midrange. Maybe down the road I will have David Cabrera flash the ECU for me. Next is a pole. Leaning heavily on the Prowatercraft pro lite pole in black. Carbon fiber, so super light. And half the cost of an RRP setup. The RRP package is definitely one of the best setups just may do the Prowatercaft pole first. Updates coming so stay tuned. Happy holidays to everyone.

Installed the Wamiltons black hood. Great fit and easy installation. This hood is light compared to the stock hood. Now just need the Prowatercraft Prolite handlepole to compliment the hood.

A few pics of the hood off the ski to see the quality and the inlet and outlet holes for cooling.

Next is the Prowatercraft prolite handlepole. Should be ordering within a week or two. Then the ski is pretty much setup for now. Got the Jettrim mat kit coming as well.

    Man, that’s a fine-lookin’ hood; Wamilton's is doing 1500 owners a real service!
