DESS wiring?
I have the UMI steering set up, and relocated the DESS post to the UMI supplied bracket.
I shortened the wire length to make a neat install.
Does shortening the wires to the DESS alter the coded signal in any way?
I know there is a ROM chip in the DESS lanyard and the post is just a magnetic reed switch, so can shortening the wires cause a mis-read signal?...PR...

The way yours is plumbed is fine just make sure your IC isn't restricting...
